At Oxley Park Dental Practice we recommend that a child begins dentist visits at two years old. We find that many of our youngest patients actually enjoy coming for dental appointments more so than many adults!
As a parent, your main responsibility is to instil good dental hygiene habits in your children and maintain a regular schedule of dental visits as they grow up. Facts show that children who learn to take care of their teeth at a young age are more likely to have good dental habits as grown-ups. We also recommend regular fluoride treatments and fissure sealants to protect your permanent teeth from any damage caused by decay.
It is also very important that babies and infants are not allowed to go to sleep with the milk bottle left in the mouth. This can seriously affect the health of the baby teeth.
